Family and School on my Birthday

Hi 😊 As you probably will have guessed from the title, it's my birthday! My parents bought me an Xbox One for it, which I finally finished setting up about 10 minutes ago -_- But it's a great present, and I can finally play Final Fantasy XV now!

I'm still saving up for a record player however.

SOMEDAY. 😣

But, in all seriousness, the evening has been the best part of my day. It's become a tradition for my family on my dad's side (My grandparents, aunt and uncle) to take me and my dad (Whose birthday is 5 days before mine) out for a meal at this amazing Italian restaurant just outside of my city. The experience is always great as I don't get to see my grandparents on my dad's side all as often as on my mum's side, so we get to catch up on a lot of things.

It's not always a good experience having your birthday on a school day, but an added bonus today for me was that I had no homework and I had my school book club today. I recommended "We Are All Made of Molecules" to the group, and there were some recommendations too. The books I want to read next though are:

  • You're Making me Hate You by Corey Taylor (Lead Singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour)
  • Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi

I want to read Furthermore because it has an interesting fantasy-style story, and You're Making Me Hate You because it's Corey Taylor, obviously xD

SEE YOU NEXT TIME!!

An Intro to my Somewhat Ordinary Life!

Hi! Firstly, thank you for using your time and energy to click on this blog of mine 💜 (Just so you know, I love Stitch xD)

I'm Logan, a high-school (Otherwise known in the US as middle school) student from England. I thought I'd begin this blog as a way to express what I think of things such as school, media (Film, music, TV), books and life in general.

I love music, and although I don't seem like the type, I think that rock and metal are amazing! My parents (Especially my dad) are avid fans of metal bands like Iron Maiden and Metallica, so I'm kind of growing up with it. I also set out to discover my own tastes in music too, and that's how I found rock/alternative bands and artists like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, and then more modern rock such as Garbage and Brody Dalle.

I love reading. I have really certain tastes in books, I still like a lot of genres though. The book I'm reading at the moment is called "We Are All Made of Molecules" by Susin Nielsen which is a good book for around age 12-15.

I also like reading comics and manga (Japanese comics). Japanese books in general are traditionally read right to left, the exact opposite of English being read left to right. So, translated manga still keeps in the Japanese order so as not to mess the artwork up by flipping it.

I am learning the Japanese and Italian languages. I'm further ahead with my Japanese, I know the two phonetic alphabets (fluent in Hiragana, mostly in Katakana) and I'm a beginner with Kanji. I haven't gotten that far along with Italian yet - but hopefully I'll focus more on it soon.

I'm a student, I get good grades in most subjects, but I try to revise at least once every one-two weeks. I'm happy with my progress, and I hope my work pays off after I leave school.

I have a collection of games and different consoles. My current list of consoles are:
  • Nintendo 64
  • PlayStation (PS1)
  • Nintendo GameCube
  • Xbox One
  • Wii
As much as I love modern games, retro games are AMAZING. My favourites at the moment are Resident Evil, Abe's Oddysee and Ocarina of Time. I still need to play Majora's Mask, I know it'll be great though 😄

The physical thing I most want is (DRUM ROLL...)

A record player!

I already have a ton of stuff lying around in my bedroom. You name it, books, CDs, DVDs, games, it's all somewhere. I'm making space so I can somehow fit one in, but I still need to get the money for it first.

SOMEDAY 😭

And that's me! I hope to add more posts in the future on my life, and my thoughts and experiences.

SEE YOU NEXT TIME!
